Back in S'pore

I'm safely back from Illinois. 6 1/2 more weeks of "vacation" than back to the real world:)

Move

Things are coming along with our upcoming relocation. To the best of our knowledge we will be going to Elgin, Il. Ryan has been contacted by the relocation company and they are coming over in the next few weeks to figure out how much we are packing. I am still in Illinois following Grandma K's funeral and will begin the house hunting process tomorrow. We'll keep everyone updated!!

There is joy that Grandma was able to break free of the bonds of earth and soar towards her Savior but there is also sadness as I replay the parade of memories that come before me. Grandma was a very big part in making me who I am today, and she is woven through the fabric of my life in such a way that there will always be threads of her there even though I feel the hole that ripped in it this morning. I love you, Grandma, and miss you very much!!

Easter

We had Easter dinner with some friends of ours last Sunday. They had a lady show up at their home the day before trying to get rid of puppies before taking them to the SPCA to have the put down. This is one of them that they took in - Caspian. He was a HUGE hit with all the kids! 5 weeks old!

It was quite a spread of home made food! I definitely ate way too much:)

Ethan got a replica of a Singapore taxi in his basket - he just LOVES the taxis!

Front Load Washing Machine Wins!!

Well, it looks like everyone that voted likes what they have but more people own the front load than the top load. Putting that together with everyone's comment (via e-mail, phone, Facebook, or comments below) I've decided that I will get a front load. We have been encouraged to sell our washer and dryer with our home in KC so that is why I'll be looking for a new one when we move this summer.

The positives are:

Energy, water, and soap efficient
Easier on clothing
Bigger drum so big comforter can fit inside
Easy for the kids to help

My mom says that with her machine you can add clothes even after it's started so I guess it's settled! Most complaints on Consumer Reports were in reference to brand new models. Seems if you buy a model that has been out for awhile most of the bugs have been worked out.

Racetracks and Playaways

I set up Kenton's racetrack this morning for Ethan. He loves playing with it.

The twins are able to check out "playaways" from the library. Each one contains an audio book. They of course like them but I think that it's too much technology!

I am just wondering when they may ask, or who may ask... When they hear the shower running, do they knock on my door and yell to me if I am an elderly person? I just can't figure out how this might work....
